A first prototype of the front-end ASIC dedicated to the trigger detector of the dimuon arm of ALICE has been designed and tested. This note introduces the new discrimination technique implanted in the chip in order to improve the time resolution of the Resistive Plate Chambers (RPC) in the streamer mode.
